Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsburys issue do not eat warning for certain foods – Lancs Live

Food products sold at major UK supermarkets have been pulled from the shelves over fears they may contain either plastic or ingredients not listed on the label.

The Food Standards Agency has issued an updated list of the goods, including lamb moussaka, ice cream and mushroom burgers, with Asda, Morrison,s Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose among those stores affected.

The watchdog said the presence of plastic or unlisted allergen ingredients including egg and milk could pose a healthy risk to anyone who consumes them.

Customers are being advised to check the details below and return any products to the supermarket in exchange for a full refund.

No receipt is necessary due to the nature of the recalls.

Asda

Asda is recalling Asda Extra Special Lamb Moussaka because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label.

The FSA said this means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

The FSA said: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”

Morrisons

The FSA said: “Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

“If you have bought any of the products do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”

Tesco
