Cotswolds pub named best in South West at National Pub and Bar Awards 2021 – Gloucestershire Live

A Gloucestershire pub was named one of the best venues of its kind at a glamourous awards ceremony.

Each year 94 pubs and bars are entered into the finals of the awards with only 15 in with the chance to be winners of the regional awards.

Now the Wheatsheaf Inn in Northleach has scooped the award for the South West at the National Pub and Bar Awards last night (September 7).

The National Pub & Bar Awards was hosted last night by restaurant critic Grace Dent.

The event is designed to showcase the UK’s finest pubs and bars to crown the best venues across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The overall crowned winner – The Galvin Green Man in Essex – has secured the top accolade at the annual National Pub & Bar Awards.

The Wheatsheaf is part of the Lucky Onion group which is owned by Superdry founder Julian and Jade Dunkerton who have recently taken over The Crown in Minchinhampton and have other establishments across the county.

Head of marketing for The Lucky Onion Issy Budge said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the National Pub and Bar Award for the South West region last night. The team has worked incredibly hard over the past year and it’s an honour to be recognised with this award.”

The 17th century coach house has 14 rooms and boasts traditional fireplaces and has beautiful gardens at the back of the building, and has an impressive dining menu available.
