Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram issue update after global outage hits millions of users – North Wales Live

Statements have been issued by Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram following a major outage across the social media platforms.

The problem began at around 4pm on Monday, when users of the services reported issues.

In a message posted on Twitter, Facebook said: “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

WhatsApp issued a statement which said: “We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!”

Instagram posted an update which said: “Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them. Bear with us, we’re on it! #instagramdown

Meanwhile, Twitter saw the funny side and tweeted “hello literally everyone” after many people flocked to the site during the other services’ outage.
