The couple who have three children together, regularly entertain ‘A listers’ on the family farm Tyn Llwyfan, in Llanfairfechan. Just a few days ago the actor and comedian Jack Whitehall and his dad spent a day filming at the farm for the latest series on Netflix “Travels with My Father”.

Rhian cooked lamb burgers for the crew and a slow roasted leg of lamb for the Whitehall’s. They both later declared it was the best food they’d ever had on any film set.

When Paul McCartney’s photographer daughter Mary stayed at the farm when she came over to photograph the famous Carneddau ponies, for National Geographic magazine, she was so blown away by the Jones family’s hospitality and the magnificent views that she promised to bring her superstar dad back with her.

“We’ve been together 35 years and married for 22,” said a chuckling Gareth.

“Since I’ve been doing the TV work and other stuff Rhian has been the most amazing support and there’s no way I could have done it without her.”

He continued: “She’s better than any agent as she understands me through and through and knows the timings on the farm, she’s the one that talks to the media companies and so on.

“It’s a team effort between us and we are a really good team. When you get these famous people coming over like Jack Whitehall it can be quite daunting sometimes and you have to entertain them.

“But they all just seem to love coming and Rhian is an amazing cook, and everyone just relaxes and has a nice time.”

Rhian, who was prepping for dinner when North Wales Live spoke to her, said: “Gareth and I make a great team, and we never get carried away with anything because at the end of the day we are just two very normal people.

“I treat everyone the same whether they are famous or not, and I think they like that.”

She continued: “I just don’t think about how well-known Gareth has become.

“Farming is very grounding, and Gareth is still very much a full-time farmer, nothing has changed that much and I still very much cook and clean like I’ve always done.”
