Further Kent Stagecoach bus services cancelled and diverted as petrol queues and driver shortages continue – Kent Live

Several major changes have been announced for Stagecoach bus routes once again.

Major bus routes across the county have been severely impacted by lines of traffic queueing outside forecourts, with many routes diverted while others have been cancelled entirely.

Queues have formed outside petrol stations for more than a week now, as drivers are desperate to get fuel amid a shortage of drivers qualified to transport it.

This is because of a number of factors, most notably relating to Brexit, the COVID pandemic and systematic issues in the industry surrounding drivers’ pay.

Stagecoach has once again issued a series of updates on its Twitter account this morning (October 3) alerting passengers of the changes.

Long queues outside Tesco in Dover has seen drivers avoid that stop and instead using Honeywood stops.

Stagecoach add that they will “make attempts to serve Tesco when possible.”

Due to congestion on Hereson Road in Ramsgate, the 49 service will be diverting via Montefiore Avenue and Victoria Road.

As well as diversions, Stagecoach has announced that a number of routes have been cancelled due to driver availability.

The list of services cancelled in Dover, Deal, Sandwich and Canterbury was posted on their Twitter page.

There have also been five 26 services cancelled due to no driver being available.
