Police and firefighters are at the scene of a ‘partially collapsed’ pub which has resulted in the closure of a busy North Staffordshire road.
Motorists are being warned that High Street in Tean is shut in both directions between the junction of New Road and the petrol station.
Images from the scene captured by our photographer show a section of the Blacks Head pub has fallen onto the pavement. Demolition work appears to have been taking place at the building. We have previously stated how the pub is to be converted into a Co-op store.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix says the road is closed due to an ‘unsafe building’.
We will update this blog with more information as we get it.
