DS Smith is riding the trends of huge growth in online shopping and home deliveries that demand a lot of cardboard that has been recycled, rather than virgin pulp. There is also the general demand that consumer goods companies do not use plastic.
Miles Roberts, 57, chief executive of the FTSE 100 multinational for the past 11 years, said at its annual meeting yesterday: “The long-term structural growth drivers of e-commerce and sustainability have been accelerated by the effects of Covid.
