Road closed after lorry gets stuck under railway bridge in Cornwall – updates – Cornwall Live

A road is closed after a lorry has got stuck a railway bridge in Cornwall.

The incident has been reported at the bridge over the line on Cypress Avenue at Carlyon Bay, near St Austell.

It is said to have happened between Screwfix and the Carlyon Bay Golf Club this morning (Friday, September 10).

Traffic monitoring service Inrix said there are reports the lorry is stuck under the bridge and the road is closed in both directions.

An update just before 10am said: “Reports of Cypress Avenue in both directions blocked due to bridge struck by vehicle between Screwfix and The Carlyon Bay Golf Club. A lorry is reportedly stuck under the bridge.”

A photograph of the scene shared on Facebook showed a lorry wedged under the bridge, which has a 9ft 9in height warning.
