The well-heeled friends of the celebrity chef Salt Bae may not wince at the sky-high prices at his first UK restaurant but it seems that others have found £11 Red Bulls and £630 steaks hard to stomach.
The Turkish chef, who can count Leonardo DiCaprio and David Beckham among his friends, opened the first of his celebrated Nusr-Et chain restaurants in the UK last week. A copy of a receipt from the Knightsbridge branch has been shared thousands of times on Twitter, and called “absolutely ridiculous”.
The restaurant’s website does not list prices but according to the receipt it charges £9 for a Coca-Cola, £12 for sweetcorn and £100 for a “golden burger”. The giant tomahawk steak is £630. Other menu items include a battered
